My husband's maternal grandmother emigrated from Finland with her parents, and possibly a brother, to Monessen, PA in 1893. Her name was Jennie Susanna Kauppila, born 7 Feb 1886 • Ylistaro, Lansi-Suomen Laani, Finland. Her mother was Sanna Loviisa born 19 Jul 1866. Sanna's father may have been Samuel Koivisto but we are not sure of this.

Jennie's father was called Joe in old census documents from the US that we have found but may have been Jaako Kauppila. He was born in Finland in 1863. We are not sure if her parents were originally from Ylistaro or not.

Jennie seems to have had a brother who called himself George Jacobson after they emigrated, but we cannot find any evidence of his birth in Finland or in the US nor of his arrival in the USA although we know that he was here as we have a picture of him with his wife and the rest of the family taken around 1916.

If anyone can help with learning more about Jennie's family - parents, siblings, or otherwise, any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for any assistance you might provide. Joanne Williamson
