He was 16 years old when he left Finland and newer contact his family again. I would like to know about his life. He was a good painter but become sailor. Please contact me if you know someting.

Lauri Mickael Wikman arrived in Australia at Freemantle, WA aboard Sagoland on 2nd March 1927.
From his Naturalization application in 1934 online at National Archives site

he spent about 3 years at the Eastern Goldfields in WA and another year in the Kimberley Region before he spent a year on the track making ending up on Teralla Station White Cliffs an Opal mining region near Broken Hill in Western NSW.

By 1943 he had made his way to Queensland. He joined up in Brisbane Service Number - QX19577 : Date of birth - 07 Aug 1904 : Place of birth - ABO FINLAND : Place of enlistment - BRISBANE QLD : Next of Kin - ADAMSON ROBERT: and was serving in 2nd Australian Workshop Company, Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Australian Military Forces :when he was court martialled Date of Court Martial - 15 July 1943]

I found he was buried in the Mt Gravatt Cemetery, Brisbane, Qld
on 14 Mar 1986 age 81 years.
