View Full Version : Nokia's new CEO
The newspaper Keskipohjanmaa writes today that the appointed CEO of Nokia, Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, has his roots in the Gamlakarleby area. As far as I can understand his great grandfather was Alexander Andersson Kolander whose father was born in Kaino in Nedervetil (talko (http://finlander.eget.net/angraf/getperson.php?personID=I7045&tree=lassas) )

Alexander Andersson Kolander was born 12 Apr 1874, Karleby, d. 15 May 1915 in America. He married Maria Alina Mattsdotter Bredbacka, b. 22 Jun 1870, Terjärv, d. in America. They had a daughter Frida Maria, b. 1902 in America. Alexander went to America 1892, went back to Finland 1907 and then back to America. His father's family name was Vessi. I calculate Alexander and I were 4th cousins, plus many other links. I don't have any further information about his descendants. His great grandfather was Matts Andersson Vessi, 1801-1835. He is in the Caino-Torp book.
