Anyone here able to help me with the family called Jakoleff - they came from Karelia to Karjaa (Karis in Swedish) and were called "laukkyryssät" - a bunch of folks who went house to house selling all kind of stuff


My main interest is Mr. Simo(n) Jakoleff(Jakolev) who was born in 1851 in "Vaarakylä, Russian Carelia".

I found one Jakoleff Anton T. who changed his surname to be Jokela in the year 1920. He was born in Kiestinki Vaarakylä. Would he be one of your people?

As you perhaps know, Vaarakylä is in Russian Carelia, the northern part ie. Vienan Karjala, in Louhski rajon / Louhen piiri.
