We learned that a John A. Friis died 15 Dec 1974 in Palm Beach, FL. (hospital Lake Worth, 082-22-7937, Last Residence). Could he be the same John A. Friis who was b. 25.2.1898? Can anyone check death records for Palm Beach for more info. about John?

in May 1901 port of Portland Maine
Juho Friis 34 or 37 from Toholampi
Paulina 35, Johan A. 3 and Lilly Friis 4 months, all going
to Fitchburg.

Funeral fo Mrs Paulina Friis ,91 of Marshall st. was held yesterday at 2pm at the Finnish
Congregational Church . Rev Andrew Groop officiated , Elias Syrja was the soloist and
Mrs Edith Matson was the organist
The bearers were John A, Waino M. and Carlo E. Friis, Andrew Hendrickson,
Nikolai Fillback and William Tiilikala. Burial in Forest Hill.

Mrs Paulina (Leppala) , Wife of John J Friis, 91 Marshall St. died this morning at her home,
age 68 years. She was born in Finland and lived in this city for the past 44 years.
She leaves her husband, three sons , John of this city, Waino and Carlo of Boston and
a daughter , Mrs Lillian Maki of this city, a sister and two brothers in Finland and two
grandchildren.

Thanks for the additional information. I just heard from Suoma about your last find, and she's happy to get it. She has tried to do research from Finland, but didn't have any luck. She asked if there is a record of the marriage of Joan Friis to William E Sullivan, married 1946 Fitchburg. Joan is John Friisī grandchild.

I found the announcement of her engagement but not marriage.
Her mother had died after her engagement so they may have had a quiet wedding.

Burbank hospital. She was born in Harwick, daughter of Harry and Laura (Handy) Eldredge and resided in the city for 21 years.
She was a member of the CC church. Graduated from the school of nursing in New England.
