Elin Ingeborg Runquist, 94, of Chisholm died Saturday, June 3, 2006, at Redeemer Residence in Minneapolis.

She was born Feb. 10, 1912, in Kronoby, Finland, to Henrik Wilhelm and Ida Maria (Haga) Runquist. She was a Chisholm High School graduate and was a lifelong Chisholm resident. “Inge” helped raise the younger members of her family after the death of her mother, and worked as a luncheon server at the Chisholm Schools. A member of Faith Lutheran Church of Chisholm, she was very active for years in its altar guild. She was a life member of Taconite Chapter #217 O.E.S.–Chisholm, serving as its chaplain for over 50 years, and was a member of the Hibbing/Chisholm Women’s Auxiliary to the Shriners Hospital. Ingeborg enjoyed and was very skillful in embroidery, crocheting and knitting.

Survivors include her sisters, Alfa (Rudy) Greulich of Vancouver, Wash., and Ida May Ryland of Roseville, Calif.; brother, Ralf (Vi) Runquist of Minneapolis; and numerous nephews and nieces, as well as grandnephews and grandnieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Erling and Alfonse Runquist.

Elin Ingeborg Runquist, 94, SERVICES: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Faith Lutheran Church in Chisholm, with Rev. Robert Ierien officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Interment will follow in Chisholm Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rupp Funeral Home & Cremation Service–Chisholm.
