Migration Institute shows a Johanna Elisabeth Söderman issued a passport 21 Apr 1899. Passenger list has her leaving Finland 22 Apr 1899 to Clinton, Mass. She arrived Boston 14 May 1899 on the SS Catalonia. Says from Portom, age 21, single, servant, going to sister M. Smatt, crossed out, written on side Anders Johnson, Clinton, MA. Below on same manifest are Edla Smaett, 13, Portom, going to same place, and Johan Smaett, 17, same place. I found an Andrew Johnson and his wife Katherine in Clinton, Worcester, MA on the 1900 Census. Both born Finland. He was born June 1865 and she May 1864, married 3 yrs. Both weavers. No sign of Johanna with them or the two Smaett children. If she moved to Vörå in 1907, perhaps she returned to Finland. I found the two children also on Migration, spelling of surname Smått, left same ship as Johanna. Karen
