HI,
thanks for the proposals:
1. The manifest correlates with my data but the Finnish church records say that he left to USA in the year 1909. The contradiction which I didn't reconize when I copied the data from www.Genealogia.

2. What is the word on the line Mäkinen under father. The copy shows unclear at that poin of the manifest.

3. I have to check the Makinens in Tampere.

Yours
Pertti Honkala

Hi,
It is unclear to me what it says, though I will send it to your email address, and that way you can enlarge it and see it better.

I enlarged the manifest to 150%. What it says is he's going to friend Ville Nurminen in Brantwood, WI. Under father, it says David Makinen and Ta.....laux 5, Tampere. It's hard to make out the address. Looks like u, m or n's.

There was a fault in my original data: Correct is as follows:
David Emil Hill (or Makinen)
Originally Taavetti Emil Makinen
Arrival Date: 1909
Age on arrival: 22 years
Birth: 24.9.1886
Place of birth: Suodenniemi Finland
Gender: Male
Ethnic Background: Finnish
Port of Departure: England
Ship Name:
Father: David Malakias Makinen

Thanks for your proposals, but I.m afraid that none of them is the right David.

Thank you all.
