I would appreciate if someone knew something about Anton Reinhold Roslund who was born 1862 in Helsinki as a son of master-tanner Emanuel Roslund. Anton Reinhold Roslund worked as a baker in Helsinki and emigrated in the end of the 1800s from Finland to America.

On Ancestry.com, I found 2 arrivals for an Anton Roslund. The first was on 21 Mar 1890 on "Sorrento" from Hamburg, arriving New York. He was 28, Finland, going to New York, says he's a farmer.
Second arrival was 15 Sep 1894 on "New York" from Southampton. He was 32 and 6 months, a baker, protracted (not sure what that means) destination Brooklyn, NY. This could be two different men, 1862 birth would fit both.

I've searched Ancestry extensively, but the only Anton Roslund I find was born in 1880. He lived in New York, the Bronx, and was married to Amanda. Occupation given as plasterer. He was from Finland. I've tried alternate spellings such as Rosland, Roseland etc, but no luck.

I have recently found out that there is a photograph in Helsinki where is written
"Chicago 28.2.1903" as well as names of persons on the photo: Anton Emanuel and Helena Sofia Roslund and children Emanuel and Helena.

According to the passenger lists of FA Sofia Roslund (born 1877) and her children Emanuel (born 1899) and Helena (born 1901) left 18.10.1902 Helsinki and their destination was Chicago.

It seems to me that Anton Reinhold changed his second first name and lived in Chicago. I wonder if there is any resource material in Chicago in order to search out later phases of Anton and his family.

Hi,
Here is the passenger record, 1902, of Sofia, Emanuel, and Helena. Sofia states she is widowed. Anton Roslund must have died in about 1901-1902, maybe in Finland or Indiana? Son, Emanuel was born in Indiana 1899, and daughter Helena,1901 in Indiana or Finland (one census says Helena was born Finland, one Indiana). I have not been able to find them in a census in Indiana in 1900.

Hi,
This may be Sophia Roslund, unsure of this one. I would think her death record would be from Illinois, same as Emmanuel's.

I also have Emanuel Roslund's WW1 Draft Reg. but I can't upload that either. I'll try again later.

Hi,
I have Anton Roslund's passenger record, but no matter what I try, I'm getting a database error, and I can't upload the file for you. It says that the technicians are aware of the problem, so I'll try to send it to you later. :(

Hi,
Looking at Emmanuel Roselund's WW1 Draft Reg., he worked for the Pullman Car Co. At this site is an address to obtain employee records and employee pictures which may hold further clues on Emmanuel's life. I've found nothing on Helena, but without a married surname it may be difficult.
