Is there anybody who knows about the Mäntymäke family, from Sideby in Finland. My grandgrandfather, Viktor Mäntymäki, born in 1874. And he was married with Maria Adelina Pärus, she was from Lappfjärd.

I hope someone could give me an answer. Many thanks from Linnea Persson.:)

Hej Linnea

Jag är sambo med en Mäntymäki vars rötter är i Sydösterbotten. Återkommer när jag har checkat mitt material.

Hälsningar
Gunnel

Hi,
I've checked the 1910 Census for these people, and found nothing on this name. Do you know if they stayed in the U.S. or did they go back home before 1910?

Sincerely,
Denise

I see by the passenger list that Viktor was not travelling with Maria. Can you give more info on her, date of birth especially. If she came later, maybe we can trace their whereabouts from her. If they took the name Maki in the US, as many did, there are hundreds of Victor and Mary Maki families just in Michigan.

You wrote in an other thread that Viktor was married to Maria Adelina Pärus b.10.3.1877 in Lappfjärd and their children were:
Viktor Bruno b. 26.09.1900 in Sideby
Viktor Evert Valdemar b. 9.9.1902 in Sideby.
Emil Arvid b 20.8.1904 in Sideby.
Gunnar Georg Viktor fb. 24.10.1906 in Sideby,
Viktor must have been travelling to Finland every second year and back again ( see childrens birthyear).

Denise.
Marias birthyear 1877 ? You found a Maria b.abt 1885.
