Searching for info about Julius Nestor Mattsson Toveri b.Oct 10 1874 in Parkano, emigrated to Salem, Mass. 1893. Name changed to Tower. He died in a train accident about 1910. Have tried to find him in 1900 and 1910 but failed. Im intrested in finding his death date.Julius married Rosa Maria Kolehmainen b.July 18 1885 in Viborg, emigrated to Salem,Mass 1902 with her mother Maria. Rosa moved probably to Minneapolis, MN after Julius death because their children Laura Alice b.1905 and William E Tower b.1907 appear in 1920 census at Washburn Home in Minneapolis.Rosa remarried probably because on the envelope of a letter from Finland is she called Mrs Rosa Kari.Rosa died around 1938.Tried to find Rosa( Rose) in 1920 and 1930 census without success.
Any info about Julius and Rose is appreciated

Christer,
I found some information for you. I found Rosa and the children in Minneapolis in 1910. She's listed as Rosina. She was a 25 year old widow living in the home of Andrew Mansker. See lines 77-81 on image. I also found the children in 1920 in the Washburn Home in Minneapolis. Looks like they were put in an orphanage. See lines 6-7. Rosa Mary Kari appears in the MN Death Index. Died 30 July 1941 in Hennepin County, MN. Minneapolis is in that county. Karen

This may be Rosa and her second husband, David Kari, in 1920 and 1930 in Minneapolis. Lots of misspellings, but same persons. Both from Finland. Karen

Thank you very much Karen for this. This matches the info we have so its definitive the right persons. The letter from Julius Towers niece in Finland is addressed to Mrs Rosa Kari 526 Queen Ave,N. Minneapolis.Thats the address Rosa and David lived at in 1930 census.Underneath is written(Cary). Then comes text " To mrs Hofteig or Tower", well mrs Hofteig was Rosas daughter Laura Tower and Lauras son Lauren Hofteig is married to my wife Marlene's 3 cousin and thats how i got into this research job when we visited Minneapolis in May this year. Now we just have to find the death record for Julius Tower too.I guess Lauren can easily get deathrecord for Rosa now when we got her death year. Thanks again Karen, you did an ecxellent job.

Here's the state record number for Rosa's death information. 021247 state file number, 872682 record number, year 1941, Hennepin County, MN. If she includes this information in her request, it should make it easy to get a copy of the death record. Glad to help. Karen

Cannot find any tracks of these people in US, but they must have been in Salem ,Mass in 1903 as Rosa and her mother Mary was going to Salem in 1903Christer
