Is there someone who could translate this for me? A friend sent it to me, thinking I could do it but I'm not able to do it.

It's not terribly clear and we're primarily interested in the bottom portion where there are names and dates that might be clues. The location/church in Finland would be wonderful if it's in there.

Thank you for any help.

Hello!

It seems to be a "Confirmation" certificate. Most of the text is verses from the Bible, but down on the certificate you can read that:

.....

Amanta Koskela ?????? (last word impossible to read)
born November, 11th 1882

Has been confirmated in

Wintala (?) on June 26th 1898

.....

To me the name Wintala is a little bit strange. There is a place called Vindala in Swedish. It is spelled Vimpeli in Finnish. Does anyone else have any better suggestions?

It probably is Vimpeli because Emilie Koskela said she was from Vimpeli on the ship record.

Thank you so much for the reply. It really helps.

Hello!

Good to hear that it helps you. The place Vimpeli is between Alajärvi and Evijärvi in Ostrobotnia. It is located besides the lake Lappajärvi.

Amanta Koskela Iisakintr (Iisakki's daughter, Sw. Isaksdotter)

Indeed Vintala was used for Vimpeli, and in those days spelled with W.
