Hi,
Working on my ancestry, and came across this and would love to know what "hemmans k" means next to Olof Rynäin's and "Hemms:s dr" next to Valborg Turuin's name. Thank-you! :)

Sincerely,
Denise

Denise,
According to my dictionary, a hemman is a farm or homestead, a hemmansegäre is a farm owner, so I would guess the hemm:s dtr is the farmowner's daughter. Not sure what the k is for, I did find one spelling of hemmansbrukare for farmer.

According to your header "Hemmans Karl" I would suppose that "karl" is a man.

Hi Karen and Christian,
I appreciate your help! :D Institute of Migration didn't have this listed for occupations and I also couldn't find it in my Finnish to English dictionary.
Thanks again,
Best Regards,
Denise
