Now Iīve found something new! Looking for Albert C Eklund,
brother of
Alfred I. Eklund and Mrs. Edith Newman, both of Seattle. I donīt know when he is born. Parents were Anna Lovisa Karlsdotter Byman 25.1.1863-1915,
married 1891 to Isak Mattsson Eklund(Pet)
7.10.1870. 1900 Colorado. In the obituary of his brother Alfred it says that he was born in Sweden, which is wrong, it is in Finland, here it is:

Eklund and Mrs. Edith Newman, both of Seattle,. Father-in-law of Mrs. Mary Georg Rick, Pueblo. Survived also by 21 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Member of St. Patrick Parish, Pueblo Elks Lodge 90, and the Half Century Club. Mr. Eklund was born Oct. 13, 1892, in Sweden and had resided in Pueblo 69 years. He retired in 1960 from the CF&I quality control department following an employment of 53 years. Following his retirement, he operated the Eklund Sharpening Service. Rosary recitation 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Funeral Home Drawing Room. Mass of Resurrection 10 a.m. Thursday, St. Patrick Church. Elks committal Roselawn. Cate,
I found Albert C Eklund in death indexes. Albert C Eklund born abt 1904, died 17 Apr 1990 in Federal Way, WA. He was 86 In 1920 and 1930, Albert is in Pueblo, CO and says born CO abt 1904. He must have gone to WA after 1930. In 1920 Alfred and Ida and Edith are still in CO. By 1930 they're in WA.

In the WA digital archives, there is one land record:

Eklund Albert C Dorothy D Grantor DEED 1987 Thurston 870407055 L31 SUNWOOD LAKES DIV #1

Thurston County cities are listed here:

http://washington.hometownlocator.com/wa/thurston/

Sunwood Lake is south of Lacey and Olympia, at the bend of Interstate 5 / I-5 and to the east and south of that bend.

Maybe they have a son or daughter or grandchildren or great-grandchildren there today? There is a mention of a Dean getting married there in 1977, and a Janet married in 1971. Others in the 1990s.

Since that particular area of Thurston County is "new". I would also suggest Grays Harbor County and Kitsap County as good possibilities.

Lots of Finns were there before moving to the "city", and I see some that were married in the 1940's which could be children of Albert.

Cate,
To avoid any confusion in my post, Albert was 86 when he died, not 86 in 1920. I missed the period at the end of that sentence. Karen
