Hey everyone,

I am on the Finnish Digital Archives's "Asutuksen yleisluettelo (kokoelma)" page, looking for Porvoo (Borgå) tax-census records. I know that tax districts change, borders shift, and names change, so maybe I am just missing it...but I cannot find Porvoo at all. I can find some of the neighboring parishes, like Sipoo, Pornainen, and Pernaja...but they do not seem to contain Porvoo farm records.

The link to the Asutuksen Yleisluettelo is at http://digi.narc.fi/digi/search.ka, go there and click the tree view and you will see it at the top.

Anyway, I thought you all might help me figure out where the Porvoo records are. Thanks!

Rob,
Just type in Porvoo in the "search" box and it comes up. Household rolls to 1880. Karen

Asutuksen yleisluettelo is available for Porvoon pitäjä, according to
http://www.genealogia.fi/hakem/says.htm
But it seems not yet scanned for the National Archives digital archive :(

Karen, thanks for the help, but I have already made extensive use of the Henkikirjat records on the digital archives. They only go from 1810-1880 for Porvoo, however. That is why I am looking for the Asutuksen yleisluettelo, as they apparently go from 1540s-1770s. I may be wrong here, but I think the Henkikirjat were actual census records, while the asutuksen yleisluettelo are more random genealogical information taken and extracted from old tax records and stuff. Thanks though!

Jaska, I appreciate you looking that up for me. I guess I will just have to be patient. I have ordered Porvoo's Asutuksen yleisluettelo from the local Mormon Family History Center, so it should be coming in a month or so. I was just curious if I could get them off the Finnish Digital Archives sooner. Not only that, but the black and white microfilmed Asutuksen yleisluettelo the Mormons have are often of poor quality, and lack the color coding that the originals have.

Anyway, thanks everyone!
