I was wondering if anyone currently has this publication from the Finnish Migration Institute -

----
Kuparinen, Eero
An African Alternative. Nordic Migration to South Africa 1815-1914
Turku 1991, 487 p. EUR 7,00
----

I am tempted to order it, in the hopes it mentions Swedish-speaking Finnish missionary work in southwest Africa in the 1860s...but I am wondering if anyone here already has this publication, or has read it. If so, could you tell me if it contains any information I might be looking for?

I found a few reviews of the publication online through google.com, and none of the reviews mentioned missionary work, or talked about any Finns in Africa as far back as the 1860s. The reviews mention more about the "gold rush" where Finns went to Africa in the early 1900s.

Anyway, thanks for the help, later!

K-G Olin wrote the above book about Swede-Finns in Africa - it contains the names of everyone from Ostrobothnia who went to Africa.
