George H. Nisula, a resident of Doylestown for the past two and a half years, formerly of Ocean City, N.J., died Friday, Oct. 23, 2009, at his residence. He was 95.

He was the husband of the late Janet Nisula.

Born in Massachusetts, he was a son of the late John and Aina (Nordman) Nisula.

George graduated from Frankford High School, Philadelphia, and obtained his Industrial Engineer Degree from Drexel University.

George had a passion for singing. He sang in several church choirs including, Wissinoming Baptist Church, Philadelphia, Oreland Baptist Church, Ardsley Chapel, St. Peter's Methodist, Ocean City, and Doylestown Presbyterian Church. In the past, George also sang with the Ocean City's Men's Choir and the Country Gentleman of Bucks County. He also enjoyed wood carving and spending time with his loving family and grandkids.

George is survived by a daughter, Carol N. Tettemer and her husband, George, of Doylestown; grandchildren, Susan Famularo and her husband, Alex, and George Tettemer III and his wife, Debbie; and his great-grandchildren, Sabrina and Quin. He also is survived by a brother, David Nisula and his wife, Carol; a sister, Millie Gardner; a sister-in-law, Betty Nisula; and a dear friend, Jane Culbertson. He was preceded in death by a brother, Chet.

George's memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at Doylestown Presbyterian Church, 127 E. Court St., Doylestown, where family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
