Margaret G. “Maggie” Lund
Margaret G. “Maggie” Lund, 90, of Duluth passed away Sunday, May 9, 2010, in the Transitional Senior Housing on Piedmont Avenue.

She was born Jan. 13, 1920, to William and Alma (Trimble) Grondahl in Duluth. Maggie attended Emerson Grade School, Washington Jr. High and graduated from Central High School. She was a teller for First American National Bank, a bookkeeper for the Duluth Athletic Club and retired from Airport State Bank. She married George Lund on Aug. 8, 1969, in Duluth. Maggie was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Hermantown, where she was very active. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, dancing, playing cards and Scrabble. Family was very important to her, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, William Grondahl, and her husband, George. She is survived by her children, Dennis (Rita) McDonald of Superior, Corinne McDonald, Dale (Patricia Rasmussen) Smith, Marsha (Philip) Jones and William Smith, all of Duluth; sisters, Ilene (Vernon) Anderson and Betty (Tom Carlson) Guzzo, both of Duluth; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Mollen and the staff at Transitional Senior Housing for all the wonderful care and support they provided.

VISITATION: 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. memorial service Wednesday, May 12, 2010, in Faith Baptist Church, 5693 Maple Grove Road. Rev Brian Wiita officiating. Burial in Noble Hill Cemetery, Fredenberg Township. Arrangements by Williams Lobermeier Funeral Home.
