Teckla Johanna Uskoski was born on May 26, 1927 in Fredonia, North Dakota to Peter and Aili (Poykko) Uskoski. After a long battle with Parkinsons, she died on June 29th at Grandma's Place in Battle Ground where she had resided for over a year. She was 83. She was raised in Kintyre, North Dakota until 1941 when she moved with her family to the Battle Ground area. She graduated in 1945 from Battle Ground High School. She married Glenn Edward Jolma on December 22, 1950. They were the parents of five children. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years for Wolf Supply in Vancouver. She was a member of the Old Apostolic Lutheran Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Heidi (Curtis) Massie of Battle Ground; four sons, Gordon (Karen) and Jack (Julie) of Battle Ground, Curtis (Elizabeth) of Yacolt, and Kevin of Kalama. She is also survived by her brothers, Albert (Nora) Uskoski of Mapleton, OR, Clarence (Jean) Uskoski of Brush Prairie, John (Helen) Uskoski of La Center, William (Tudy) Uskoski of Vancouver, Carl (Dorothy) Uskoski of Lynnwood, WA; and one sister, Marie Peters of Tracy, CA; 22 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Glenn, on July 19, 2004; her parents; and her brother, Everett Uskoski.
She was a caring and giving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed baking bread, embroidery, gardening and sports, and will be fondly remembered for her favorite colors blue and white.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 2, 2010 at Old Apostolic Lutheran Church, 16603 NE 142nd Ave., Brush Prairie, WA. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday evening from 6:30 to 8:30. Burial will be at Elim Cemetery in Brush Prairie. Laynes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
