I'm searching for details of Margrethe Maria Paaso born in 1858 or thereabouts in Tyrnävä. According to her marriage records in Norway her father was called Henrik. She seems to have moved to Ii sometime after her confirmation (which she gives as being in Tyrnävä). That's really all the information I have to go on.

Margrethe Maria Paaso married Henrik Mattsson Paso in Vadsø in 1885. I have quite a complete picture for the Paso family of Ii/Kiiminki/Haukipudas going back to 1680, but have drawn a blank with Margrethe Maria and the Paaso family.

I hope someone out there can point me in the right direction.

Best regards,

Margaret B

Thanks a lot for the tip, but none of the dates match my timeline. What I really need to find are the birth records for Tyrnävä for the period in question (1858). Do they still exist or have they been lost somehow? My problem is that I am only able to search online, since I live in Oslo, Norway. I would really appreciate any help I can get from more experienced Finnish genealogists.

But thanks again for the suggestion.

Regards,

Margaret B

Thanks for all your suggestions. Will give the digital archives a go and see what I find. Will let you know if I'm successful.
