I have some charts that were sent to me showing the ancestry of Lars Andersson Friis, taking the line back to 1470 as follows. I have pages of huge charts documenting this and he asked me if this information is available to Friis researchers. He found some of his data here: http://koti.mbnet.fi/tkalmi/SkalmTables.htm Has anyone done any research on the origins of Anders Friis? I told him about the Friis book, but as far as I know there has been no new data available about the origins of Anders Friis. Is that correct? Is there anything that proves what is listed below? He claims that the Friis-Jagerorn connection leads back to Charlemagne. He found the data at the LDS Family History Center in Virginia, Minnesota.

Hi June,
I have Friis lines that lead to the name Kurki, which are descendants of Charlemagne. I do not have this particular line of Friis though. I have an Anders Mårtensson Friis b. 1560 with ancestors such as Mårten Filpusson Jågerhorn af Storby... They all get connected somehow in that royal line, but I haven't completed it all. Sorry. I would have to assume he is correct about the Friis line leading back to Charlemagne.

Best Regards,
Love,
Denise

Hi June,
The Anders Mårtensson Friis I have is a brother to the Peder Mårtensson Friis you are referring to, and that line leads back to the Kurki name which is connected to the Jågerhorn's. Someday I will get around to finishing those lines. They are all my mother's ancestors. ;)

Denise

Table 10 of the Genos 69 and Genos 45 Table 2. Putting together the couple Skalm / Friis. Peder's father would be Mårten Jönsson Friis.

I can't help wondering if Peder Danske is the beginning of the Tanskanen line I'm so stuck on...I know that the name Tanskanen, was Danskanen, and further maybe Danska? Danske? Hmmmm....got me thinking now. :D

Hi Kaarina,
Looking at that link, http://www.juhasinivaara.fi/ralssis/ralssike.htm
and using google translation tools, am I correct in assuming that I should be looking at the descendants of Maria Jägerhorn?
I have written to this page http://suvut.genealogia.fi/tanskanen/Tanskala/tanskala.html a couple times over the years and never get a reply from any of the members which is frustrating...

Thank-you,
Cousin,
Denise :D

Denise,

Thanks for that. I've seen Jonas Frise- Friis before - his father Johan was a soldier from Sweden, but so far haven't been able to go beyond him.

Hi Denise!

I've done some searching on my maternal ancestors back in Finland, and one of them is Peder Mårtensson Friis. Do you think you could send me the file you have on that line leading back to Kurki?

Best,

Michael
