January 1, 1914 ~ January 4, 2011

Hannah Lehtonen was born in Cloquet, MN on Jan. 1, 1914, the 8th of 12 children born to John and Ida Lehtonen. She passed away on Jan. 4, 2011 in Battle Ground, WA. Hannah had lived in Clark Count for 82 years, 65 of those in Brush Prairie.

She married Ray Oja in 1935 and he preceded her in death in 1995.
Hannah was the typical Finnish hostess, the coffee pot was always on and food was always ready to go on the table when guests arrived. She was a very active lady, taking up flying after she retired from the Brush Prairie Post Office when she was in her late 60's. She was in great physical shape because of racquetball, water aerobics, and swimming well into her 90's. She even tried sky diving when she was in her late 80's. She loved traveling, taking many trips to Finland and Minnesota to visit relatives, fishing trips to Alaska, and pleasure trips to visit the casinos in Nevada. On of her favorite things to do was go out to eat with family and her many friends. She and her sisters, along with several nieces and nephews, had a standing lunch date on Friday. Wednesday night at Gram's was always supper and sauna for family.

She had two sons, Jim (Aimee) and Don (Joanne); five grandchildren, Jonathan (Susan) Oja, Jody (Glen) Flanagan, Kris (Joe) Gray, Jason Oja and Michelle Oja; nine great-grandchildren, Donny, Jared, Hayley Oja, Jessica, McKenna, and Tyler Flanagan, and Kylie, Adman, and Andrew Gray; and a step-granddaughter, Alexis. She is survived by two sisters, Irja Swanson and Ester Adolfson; and many nieces and nephews.

Her nine other siblings and her parents preceded her in death.
The family would like to thank Stuart and Tracy Nelson and the staff at Still Waters Living and Kaiser Hospice for their care.

At her request, there will be no services.
Layne's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
