Here is some statististics over the Swede-Finn population in different municipalities and towns in Finland. These figures are of municipalities where there is registered more than 100 persons with Swedish as the main language.
(Newer numbers will be available sometime in May, these are marked as of 31.12.2002)

These municipalities have more than 10% Swedish-speakers as of 31.12.2002. The Åland municipalities are not included in this statistics.

Note that Kosnäs probably is the most Swedish-speaking municipality in the whole world!

Hi Hasse,
I missed three communities of personal interest: Terjärv, Esse, and Solf. Are these three combined into other communities?

Thanks for all your time on Finlander, by the way. I notice Jim Bailey's list of family tree names is posted, and that must have taken some time to enter!

Syrene

- Terjärv, Nedervetil and Kronoby formed the new Kronoby
- Esse nowadays belongs to Pedersöre
- Solf is part of Korsholm

Everything changes. Less municipalities - that is the trend!
