Does anyone have information on Fanny Roiko b. 26.9.1882 Ii, Finland, d.1.6.1960, USA? She came to Toronto, Canada 17.7.1912 with the name Mrs. Fanny Packer (Paakkari) after her first husbond`s death in Finland. Later she moved to Fitchburg and married Eino Roiko. Their address was 29 Nutting street FI-5-5388. My friend, who is relative to Fanny, has a photo of Fanny and her hotel in USA.

Any information on Fanny`s life is highly appreciated,

Marita

Marita,
According to the Emigrant Institute, Fanni Pekantr. Paakkari born 20.09.1882 was issued a passport 29.10.1906.
I found Eino Roika in Fitchburg, MA, but not with Fanni. In 1920, his wife is listed as Ida and they have a son Waino 4 3/12. Says he came to US 1907. This matches the passenger list on Emigrant Institute. He left Hango 8.5.1907 and England 14.5.1907 on the Ivernia for Fitchburg and his brother Matti Roiko. There is also another listing for Eino Roiko in 1930 Fitchburg, but his wife is now given as Mary M and they have a son Leo 2 10/12. A matching WWII Draft Reg card gives wife as Mary. It may be the same man and Ida died between 1920-1930. Not sure where Fanni is.

Marita,
Here is that 1912 arrival for Mrs. Fanny Packer. She is travelling with several children and is going to her husband in Toronto, Ont.

The only Fannie Roiko on Ancestry.com that I could find died 31 May 1960 in Deer Lodge, Montana. She was 82 and a widow. MT State Death Index #234, MT State Genealogical Society. I do not find an Eino Roiko anywhere except in MA and MN.
If you look at that manifest for Mrs Fanny Packer, all the way to the right you see C/E=Church of England, this is the column for religious affiliation. I doubt this is the same Fanny from Finland.

Yes, I think this is the same person, but I wonder if she went to USA before 1912, because she was married in Finland and the first husband was Jaakko Tuomaala b. 28.11.1879, died 21.4.1912. I havenīt found Fanni on the passenger list. Perhaps I should search more information on her first husbond and their marriage.
I found Eino Roiko and his brother Matti from US census 1910, too. Eino was there a single, the address was Fitchburg Ward 2, Worcester, MA. He may be Fanniīs husbond, but the question is when, if he had other marriages, too. Fanny visited her relatives in Finland 1952alone and told she run a hotel in MA. Thank you for your help.

Thank you Karen, I guess I have made a mistake with that information. She cannot be Fanny from Finland.

I think this might be the right person, because the death day is so close to the information we have in Finland. Her relatives told that she died by some kind of accident.
