People in Finland and Sweden spend more time reading newspapers than any other EU nation, whereas the Greeks Spaniards and Portuguese are considerably less interested in the printed media. According to a survey, 77.8% of Finlanders and 77.7% of Swedes read newspapers five to seven times a week. People in Germany and Luxembourg also read the newspaper: over 60% read the newspaper every day.

In TV viewing, Finland represents an EU average, but as radio listeners Finland is above the mean. About 60% of EU citizens listen to the radio daily, and in Finland this figure is 66%.
