Looking for GreatGrandfather who came to US about 1882. Found in 1900 US census in Mpls MN. Married Anna Ammala 1899/1900. They had 4 children. I am trying to find info about his parents, siblings etc.
Thanks,
Cheryl Jones Keller

Chertl,
What was your greatgrandfather's full name? John Jones or Jonas or Junno? Do you know what it was in Finland?

As far as I know his surname was Junno.

Hi Cheryl,

most probably he was Johan/Juho Johansson Junno, born in Pulkkila on October 24, 1853. You can see the family in this communion book image: http://www.digiarkisto.org/sshy/kirjat/Kirkonkirjat/pulkkila/rippikirja_1857-1866_ik24-25/75.htm. In a later communion book (not online) the farm name is Yrjänä and there is a note for Juho: "America 1888". Your attachment also mentions Pulkkila and Yrjänä so I think it is pretty certain that this is the right person.

Thanks so much Kari. How can I get a copy of the page that is not online as yet? I have been fortunate enough to have come across people - family and friends - who have done most all of the work :) I am truly blessed! Thank you again ...

I attach a photo of the relevant part. This is from the communion book for years 1881-1890:
