One of my aunts lived briefly in Finland during the early 1930s, and brought back this painting by a Finnish artist. The name is almost illegible and looks like Z or T Ruoko_ko_r_ 1932. Is this name familiar to anyone?

The name that immediately comes to my mind is famous expressionist painter Jalmari Ruokokoski (1886-1936). Artworks listed at Finnish National Gallery site (link (http://kokoelmat.fng.fi/wandora/w?imagenum=0&imagesize=0&action=gen&si=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.muusa.net%2Fnimi%2FRuokokoski_ _Jalmari&lang=en)) don't imply that, but the text in Finnish Wikipedia for him (link (http://fi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jalmari_Ruokokoski)) tells that due to his alcohol problem he made a lot of mass production to finance drinking, e.g. painted as many as 100 flower watercolors in a couple of hours.

Thanks, Jaska, for the interesting information. It's possible that the name could be Ruokokoski. The colors in the painting (which is done in oil) are some of my favorite colors -purple and pink, and the painting attracts attention when others see it. It's displayed prominently in the entry to my home.
