Worcester - Everett Mangsen, Sr., 83, died on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 in his home. He leaves his devoted wife of 63 years, Mary (Williams) Mangsen, 3 children, Everett Mangsen, Jr., and his partner, Nancy Rigano, Dolores Gribouski and her husband, Jeff, and Russell Mangsen and his wife, Carol, 6 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, John Mangsen. Everett also leaves behind a brother, a sister, and several brothers- and sisters-in-law who fondly remember him.

Everett proudly served his country in the Army during WWII. He completed his Master's of Education degree and was an automotive technology teacher at Bay Path Regional Vocational Technical High School until his retirement. Everett was a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church, demonstrating his faith by ushering, chaperoning members to church on the bus, and delivering flowers to shut-in members. His nature was to help those in need, and most who knew him have a story about his help with their car or truck. He was Past Master of Isaiah Thomas Lodge, A.F. & A.M., Worthy Patron Stella Chapter #3, member Aleppo Shrine, Masonic Blue Slipper, and Scottish Rite. Everett loved traveling with his wife, children, and extended family. Together they enjoyed several cross-country trips, boating adventures to York, ME, and exploring in his motor home. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Calling hours will be Friday, Jan. 6, from 4-7 p.m. at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street. The funeral service will be Saturday, Jan. 7, at 10 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 73 Lancaster Street. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the "Good Samaritan Fund" Trinity Lutheran Church, 73 Lancaster St., Worcester, MA 0l609 or Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
