Hello. And this is the other relative I mentioned in another post that has been stumping me for a long time...

Her name is Anna Kaisa Juhontytär Hakkarainen. Born abt 1852 and died abt 1930. I'm not sure which region she lived in but her husband did live in Perho, Finland. So I'm assuming from that area. She was married to Tobias Heikinpoika Kirvesmäki (18 May 1855 -2 Jun 1891) and married on 29 Jun 1878.

Thanks again for any and all help. My family and I really appreciate it.

Thanks again for all the help!! In this one too I'm a bit stumped...

On this link...

I see her parents...Johan and Lisa listed. However I do not see an Anna Kaisa or anyone born in 1852. Is she on here as well? And how are the others related to her? Does this show Johan's or Lisa's parents and if so I cannot decipher their names either. Do they cross out names when they have passed? Strange so many are crossed out.

On this link...

I see Anna Kaisa in this one shwoo! And her brothers and sisters. But on anywhere on either of this links does it show her grandparents or her husband, Tobias Kirvesmäki?

Thanks again...much appreciated!!!

Kirsten =)

The first link was to a page in Rippikirja or the Communion Book. The second link was to the book Lastenkirja or children's book. Kivijärvi was a parish which used both books. The Children's book contained the names of mostly children, but adults as well, who had not yet been admitted to the church, which normally occurred at the age of 15 or 16. Once a person was admitted, his or her name was entered into Rippikirja and usually, the page number in Rippikirja was entered in Lastenkirja.

On that page in Rippikirja, you can also see the names of 3 children born to Johan Mattsson and Lena Caisa, who had been admitted to the church...they being Lena Maria, born 1840; Wilhelmina, born 1846; and Johan, born 1849.

In order to find the names of Anna Kaisa's grandparents, one would have to navigate through older books. And to see her with husband Tobias Kirvesmäki, one would have to navigate forward, through more recent books.

Kivijärvi Rippikirja, 1875-1878; Anna Kaisa is shown here with sister Johanna (second grouping of names); also brother Johan, his wife and 2 children (first grouping of names). I can't read all of the notations in the last column, but it shows she married Tobias Henriksson Kirvesmäki from Perho, on 29.6.1878 (marriage record attached).

Anna Kaisa moved from Kivijärvi to Perho in Oct and Nov 1878.

Perho Rippikirja, 1874-1884, shown with husband Tobias Henriksson and children Evert, Viktor and Lennart.

Will attach birth records separately...

I do believe this forum has an angel! =) I just can't thank you enough for all the help and time. Thank you thank you thank you! I've been pretty successful with the Hiski project site and this site... http://kaikki.nettihotelli.net/2w/sukupuu.htm, but besides that, delving into church records I just find it so hard or impossible. I just wish http://www.sukuhistoria.fi/ would transcribe those images or index them. Where does your family in Finland come from? And what got you into such a passion for Finnish genealogy? =)

Thank you very much for the kind words. But there are many other "Angels" on this site, people who are always willing to lend their time and research experience, to help others. My immediate family comes from the village of Mahlu in Saarijärvi Parish. And I do have a passion for Finnish genealogy. I enjoy the challenge...but mostly, I enjoy helping others...as I, myself was once helped. :)

Aww. =) You're awesome! I think all my relatives reign from the Perho area basically so I am not familiar with Saarijärvi. I know what you mean by passion. This all started 3 years ago when I just wanted to find out more about my Finnish side and it just exploded. It has changed my life and I'm going to be going to school to become a genealogist soon all because of my passion for family history and helping others find their roots as well. It's all so amazing. Much more past the dates, names, etc...is when you can find those personal documents and pictures and such. Those are true gems that you just hope to find although few and far between. But yes, such a passion. It's so much fun! =)
