Traverse W. Finke, 95, longtime rural Bovey and Marble resident, died on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013.

Born June 2, 1918, in Wheaton, MN, he was the son of Edward and Amelia (Wick) Finke. Traverse married Algy Larson on Feb. 2, 1940, in Wheaton. They moved to rural Bovey in 1946 and then into Marble. He had been a shovel operator for J. & L. Mining Company, retiring with over 30 years of service, and was a longtime member of the Bovey Moose.

Survivors include his wife, Algy; children, Nita (Duane) Rollins of Marble, Diane (Jack) Aimonetti of Mora, MN, Lee Finke of Taconite, Robert Finke of Sioux Falls, SD, Sandra (Jeff) Tabaka of Grand Rapids, Larry (Heather) Finke of Hill City, Deborah (Terry) Erven of Grand Rapids, Karen (Herm) Newton of Aitkin, Darus (Karen) Finke of Marble, Mark (Kris) Finke of Anoka, and Wade Finke of Calumet; 29 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Frank Finke; and a sister, Fern Zabiel, both of Wheaton.

Visitation and a gathering of family and friends will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, in the Greenway Township Hall, Marble. Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery, Coleraine.
