Stephen "Twig" B. Antus Jr., passed away quietly Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013 at Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton.

He was born Sept. 5, 1950.

Stephen was best known for his large body of stunning wildlife photography, this local Cloquet man went on to become internationally known and respected in his chosen field of work. A member of the United States Army during the Vietnam era, he was truly a one of a kind. Steve worked a short time for the railroad prior to discovering his real passion for wildlife photography. He enjoyed his solitude, daily walks in the woods with his camera in tow, his close friends and family. Seen all around the Northland at fairs and exhibits, he became the familiar face to many.

Steve was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Szeck Antus and brother, Joseph Antus.

Steve is survived by his father, Stephen B. Antus Sr.; sisters, Peggy Antus Caffey, Caroline Antus Peart and Mary Antus Buch; brothers, Christopher, Thomas, Lawrence, Matthew, John, Michael, James and Robert Antus and their spouses, nieces, nephews and friends.

VISITATION: 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013 until the 11 a.m. Memorial Mass in Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Cloquet. Inurnment service is at Old Calvary Cemetery with Military Honors presented by the Cloquet Combined Honor Guard. A meal and time of fellowship will follow in the church social hall. Memorials may be made to any wildlife charities of your choice.
