Hello!
Still trying to find Brita-Kajsa Mattsdotter Pensar born 18 dec 1865 born in Österby Pensala Finland.
And her brother Matts Vilhelm Mattsson Pensar, born jan 7 1854. They may have used Gullback as their familyname. Matts is declared dead 1.1.1947..or then he actually died then but I don't know who would have that information. Their father was Matts Mattson Pensar..same name as the brother. I think they left Finland before 1900. Probably to Usa but nothing is sure.
Would be very grateful for any help with this.

Brita Kajsa and Matts Vilhelm had a brother Karl Johan, who took the name Karlstedt... he had a son Gustav Adolf, b. 1885/1886, d. 15 Apr 1953, Spokane, WA... who took the surname Carson. He had three children born in Aberdeen and one in Vancouver, BC. They used the Carson name. My sources were Sheila Rogers and Brent Anderson who were related to Gustav's wife Anna Lydia Andersdotter Erickson, b. 1892, Ludington, MI, d. 1963 in Spokane. I don't have addresses for them, but I recall they lived in Washington State. It's possible the above Brita Kajsa and her brother went to WA where their relatives lived. I noticed that Brita Kajsa and siblings took the Gullback name.

This is the 4th time I'm trying to answer..don't know why it doesn't work!
Anyway, I found out that the names of Gustavs children were Richard, Lloyd and Helen. SO now I have to find them!

The youngest was Mary Lou Carson, b. 1918, Aberdeen, WA, d. 1996 Issaquah, WA. She married 1937 Norman Sammons. They had 4 children: Robert, b. 1939, Spokane, WA; James, b. 1943, Kirkland, WA; William, b. 1947, Kirkland; George, b. 1950, Kirkland.

James Sammons had 3 children born in Tacoma, WA: Lisa, 1970; Michael, 1974; Jodi and Lyvia, twins, b. 1976.

William had a daughter Troy Dawn, b. 1968. She married 1992 to Brent Anderson, and they had 3 children, Emma, b. 1993, Seattle; Nathaniel, b. 1996, Bellevue, WA; Eliza, b. 2000, Denver, CO. I had an e-mail address for Brent Anderson, in Arvada, CO, but when I tried to use it, I had no response. I don't have a mailing address for anyone.

This information was given to me long ago by Sheila Rogers. She has died and I've had no contact with anyone since.

Now I´m like a BIIIIIIIG question mark!
The information I have from 2 books and a släktutredning is not the same as June wrote:

Matts Mattsson Gullback Pensar born 1798, he was married to Brita maria Andersdotter Steckseen, (not to Maria Mattsdotter Nygren, that was the wife of their son Matts mattsson Pensar born 1829).
I can´t find that they (Matts&maria) had a son Karl-Johan born 1856..only the children: Matts Vilhelm Mattsson gullback born 1854 THAT I´M LOOKING FOR and Brita Kajsa mattssdotter Gullback born 1865 THAT I´M LOOKING FOR), and their brother Peter Christian mattsson Pensar born 1872, my great-great grandfather.

I DO have a Karl-johan Pettersson Pensar born 1882 but he died 1886 and was the sister of Brita Kajsa Pettersdotter Pensar.

I DO have a Karl-Johan that is the brother of Brita Kajsa Pettersdotter, who married the son of

Henrik Mangs, a genealogist in Finland, shows the following as children of Matts Mattsson Pensar-Gullback, 1829-1912, and Nygrén Maria Mattsdotter, b. 4 Jul 1833, Oravais, d. 1903. Married 28 Apr 1853 Oravais
Children
1. Gullback Matts Vilhelm Mattsson, b. 7 Jan 1854, Pensala, d. 1 Jan 1947
2. Karlstedt (Gullback) Karl Johan Mattsson, b. 8 Jan 1856, Pensala, d. 18 Mar 1900, Pensala
3. Gullback Henrik Gustav Mattsson, b. 31 May 1858, Pensala d. 12 Jul 1883, Munsala
4. Gullback Maria Sofia Mattsdotter, b. 18 Nov 1860, Pensala
5. Gullback Brita Kajsa Mattsdotter, b. 18 Dec 1865, Pensala
6. Gullback Johanna Mattsdotter, b. 4 Jun 1869, Pensala , d. 16 Jul 1951
7. Gullback (Pensar) Peter* Christian Mattsson, b. 31 Mar 1872, d. 7 Jan 1913, Österby Oravais
8. Gullback Peter Christian Mattsson, b. 2 May 1863, Pensala d. 28 Feb 1865, Pensala
9. Gullback Alfred Mattsson, b. 31 Jan 1877, Pensala d. 2 Jun 1879, Pensala

Henrik Mangs' data agrees with my data:

Matts Mattsson Pensar-Gullback, 1798-1863 married 1827 Brita Maria Andersdotter Stecksén, 1807-1851... they had a son Matts Mattsson Pensar-Gullback, 1829-1912, married 1853 to Maria Mattsdotter Nygrén, 1833-1903... they had the 9 children listed above... you will note they did have a son named Matts, b. 1854, and a daughter Brita Kajsa, b. 1865..the two people you were looking for.. and you will note they also had a son Karl Johan, b. 1856, who took the name Karlstedt. They also had a son Peter, b. 1872... your ancestor. I don't understand your problem... the people you are searching for are all accounted for above. Henrik Mangs' data came from the church books, so I'm sure it's accurate. I also checked the data of genealogists Göran Berglund and Arne Nylund for this family... and their data coincides with that of Henrik Mangs.

Ok, well, then I have to check the book I got my info from, there must be a lot missing! And I also have what Henrik Mangs made for me but there is always a possibility that something falls off..Going to go through these things now. I found someone on facebook that I emailed and asked if she is the daughter of Brent Anderson. Also checked the other ones on facebook..an easy way to contact people if they are there =)
