Katherine Mary Dahl, 93 of Cloquet, died peacefully Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013 in Villa Vista, Cromwell.

She was born Aug. 3, 1920 in Cloquet to Monroe and Lillian Berthiaume.

She married James Stewart Dahl in 1953 in St. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church with Father Jude Thadeus Cole presiding.

Katherine worked at Diamond Match Company before marriage, during this time she enjoyed many trips with her brother, John Berthiaume and best friend Marie Finberg riding their Harley motorcycles. She also enjoyed many days out at Big Lake at her cabin and spending evenings out dancing at Cary's Resort. During her time as wife and mother, now living at Big Lake, Katherine enjoyed picnics with relatives, sewing (Katherine sewed many outfits for her daughter growing up, also made maid-of-honor and bride's maid dresses for three of her nieces weddings), furniture re-upholstery, and made garland and wreaths for nearby small towns' Christmas street decorations. In 1973 she started working for Stearn's Manufacturing at the Carlton Plant for 10 years until retirement. She enjoyed 30 years of retirement! She enjoyed her Big Lake home for all those years and was sad to leave it in June of 2013 for her apartment at Cardinal Courts, Cromwell.
