Fri, March 6, 2015, members and friends interested in family research are invited to the Swedish Club Viking Room to explore Internet resources and databases. The workshop will last from 10 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 5 pm. The Club lounge is open for lunch after 12:30. (Menu is available on the Club’s webpage.])

SFHS genealogy volunteers are sharing their expertise. All levels of experience can contribute to the workshop. Space is limited to 15 people and must be reserved in advance. Members are encouraged to bring personal laptops. The Club WiFi allows access to Internet

The Morning Session will focus on the most often used websites and databases used by SFHS genealogy volunteers, and workshop members. Afternoon Session will offer two separate groups based on levels of experience.

Preparation for Workshop: Review papers and photos preserved in your family. This can provide invaluable hints. Record your family as far back as you are able at this time, at least to grandparents, if not great grandparents. Use your local library’s subscription to Ancestry.com for US census records. Bring this hard copy to the workshop.

Saturday, March 7, 2015, members gather for the Annual Luncheon at the Swedish Club. Welcome to Seattle for both events!
