I have a request for help as follows:

The name is Evald Lindeman born in 1885 and died in 1944 His parents were August Valentine Lindeman and Margaret Sofia Hornberg. August died in 1921, came to Norway, MI in 1886 Margaret also died in 1921 and came to Norway, MI in 1888. August worked in the Aragon mine for many years and was also a
city Alderman for many years. August was 63 when he died, and Margaret
was 67 when she died. Specifically the person seeking information would
like to know birth dates and place of birth. Their children - Ida born
1879, Evald born 1885, Maria born 1882, and Helmie born in 1887 - were
all born in Kristinestad.

I couldn't find them in Talko or HisKi. Would appreciate any information or suggestions.

Hi June,
Found the Lindeman family in the 1900 census, finally. On the census it states the following for months and years of birth for each family member.

August Lindeman January 1861 immigrated 1889
Sophia December 1855
Ida August 1879
Maria April 1882
Evald December 1883
Helma October 1885

The only one I found a date for was Evald on his WW1 Draft Registration and it stated December 29, 1885, which contradicts the 1900 census' year of birth for him.

Thanks, Denise. I don't know anything about the family, but they were under the impression their relatives were born in Kristinestad. Wonder if the census taker showed Evald as born in Sweden because he spoke Swedish? I'll pass this on - maybe they can come up with something else.

Hi June,
Everyone was listed as born in Sweden. Here is the 1900 Census.

Best regards,
