I am searching for information for sold Martin Romanoff(chatolik) and Qp: Helena Michelsdr Hirvonen. If I am following the correct information, they had a daughter, Maria who married Matts Oskar Wennstrom in 1871. I would be interested in help that someone could give me in my research. I think they were from the village of Nyslott and I would also appreciate it if someone could direct me to a map that could show me where that place is in Finland. Thanks in advance, Connie

Nyslott is the Swedish name for the city of Savonlinna. It was part of Sääminki parish until 1901.
Maria's birth in HisKi (http://hiski.genealogia.fi/hiski?en) database can be found here (http://hiski.genealogia.fi/hiski?en+t111167), and parents' marriage here (http://hiski.genealogia.fi/hiski?en+t115439).
You can search more in FFHA (http://www.sukuhistoria.fi/sshy/index_eng.htm) site, where scanned Savonlinna communion books 1825-65 and Sääminki church records are available.

It should easy to find Savonlinna in maps.
Happy searching!
